Summary: I got a faulty refurbished unit and three months later, still no refund! Customer service is useless. Avoid this company.

In December, I bought a refurbished Nintendo Switch as a Christmas gift for my partner, costing £209.99. When he opened it on Christmas day, there was someone else's profile on it, and it shut down after just 15 minutes. I tried troubleshooting and charging it, but it was clearly defective.

I reached out to GSG for a refund. They sent me a return label through Hermes and told me I wouldn’t get a refund until they received and assessed the item, even though they advertised a 14-day money-back guarantee.

On December 31st, I shipped the item back using their prepaid label. A week later, I got an email saying the box was delivered, but the item was missing. We figured it must have been stolen during transit by the Hermes courier. This likely happened because GSG used their company name on the return label instead of a generic PO Box, basically advertising that the package contained gaming gear.

GSG told me to file a lost parcel claim. This felt odd since I’ve never had to do that before; the retailer usually handles it. But I followed their instructions on January 7th.

It took six weeks of me emailing Hermes back and forth, providing the same info over and over to finally file a claim, and it was obvious from the form and correspondence that the retailer should have done this.

When Hermes finally offered a refund of £150 plus £9, which I reluctantly accepted, they asked for the bank account info for the account the parcel was sent from. Naturally, that was GSG's account, not mine, and since they made me file the claim, I didn’t have that info and had to ask for it. By the time I got a response from GSG, Hermes had rebranded to Evri, and my claim was no longer accessible.

Now it’s March 25, and GSG has told me I can’t get a refund because the item never arrived. The item didn’t arrive because it was stolen by the courier. They also mentioned they have several similar cases with other customers.

How many folks are out of pocket for hundreds of pounds because of this retailer’s choice of the UK’s worst delivery service and their incompetent customer support? At least one: me!

I wanted to back a small business, and I couldn’t regret it more. Take your business elsewhere.

I ordered a Nintendo Switch Joycon, and they said it would arrive in 3-5 business days.

They took my money and promised to send an email once it shipped. By the 7th day (including 3 non-business days), I reached out via email to check if they had sent it. They told me their provider couldn’t confirm my address, so they canceled my order and refunded my money.

What a joke! I've bought from their 'provider,' Shopify, many times without any issues.

I looked at their website, and the item is out of stock now, which I bet was the case when I placed my order. They just decided to brush me off when I inquired.

These folks are complete amateurs. Seriously, don’t bother with them; they haven’t even bothered to respond to my complaint email. I'm really frustrated.

The game showed up in just a few days, and I got tracking info. No issues at all.

Get Set Game had a PS5 available at a fair price when no one else had any in stock. They reached out to confirm my order and even shipped it the next day at no extra charge to make sure my son got it for his birthday. Their team was quick and polite, and when I voiced my worries about their legitimacy (just my paranoia since no one else had them), the representative was super understanding and walked me through everything. My son was absolutely thrilled. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The site didn’t do much to ease my doubts, being quite basic, but I urge you to give them a shot. I was really unsure about buying a PS5 from a company I hadn’t heard of before, especially since it was quite a bit of cash. I made my order just before midnight on 21/12/21. The following day, their customer service reached out to me, and soon after, I got the tracking info for my delivery. Today, my PS5 arrived. I can totally recommend Get Set Game again!
